Professor Arnaldo Colombo is currently a Professor of Medicine in the Federal University of São Paulo, and he serves as a consultant on Medical Mycology for several institutions in Brazil and Latin America. He has organized several multicentre surveillance studies to characterize the epidemiology and clinical aspects of Candida spp. Aspergillus spp. and Trichosporon invasive infections. In addition, he coordinated and/or participated of several studies to characterize the burden of antifungal resistance and molecular mechanisms involved. Finally, he coordinated or co-authored several guidelines for the clinical management of fungal infections that were organized by local and international academic and/or medical societies.
